* Refers to any event or simcha not organized by, or the primary responsibility of, the Beth Jacob Synagogue and to which the general congregation are not invited. In the event that a private party is organized at the same time and day as a congregational kiddush, and to which the general congregation are not invited, it is Beth Jacob’s policy that the host/hostess of the private party sponsor a basic congregational kiddush, the cost of which is dependent upon menu and number of attendees.

Please note that the Upper Foyer is normally not available for rental.

** Includes use of Bride’s Room, synagogue china and linens.  All labour charges including set up and take down of tables and chairs, dishwashing and clean-up will be charged. Please note that hourly kitchen charges apply for in-house catering or self-catered events.

*** K.I.F. Kitchen Improvement Fund; $5.00 per guest based on numbers for which we set up.  Does not apply to self-catered or in-house catering.

 A congregant’s funeral and/or a reception following a funeral is excluded from room rental charges though other charges apply as above.

Additional Charges and Information

Member organizations of Hamilton Jewish Federation and the Federation itself are not charged for room rentals.  Labour and catering charges apply.

Community not-for-profits are generally charged $50 per session (a session is approximately 2 hours long in a room/space of their choosing and our availability). A daily rate can be negotiated.  Labour and catering charges apply.

Dishwashing and labour charges are determined on an hourly rate.

The use of the kitchen for not for profit, self catered or in house catering is $10 per hour

Sisterhood silver (dairy only) – $75.00

Gratuities – while there is no obligation to extend gratuities to individuals staffing your special event, it is certainly not inappropriate to do so.  However, we would also ask that you treat Beth Jacob kitchen and custodial staff with the same consideration you extend to those working for an outside caterer.
